Hello and welcome to the first ever P.J.Berman newsletter!
I will be sending out letters at least once a month from now on, and you can expect to find updates on my writing, as well as information on other aspects of the creation process of my new fantasy fiction saga, the Silrith series. The opening novel, Vengeance of Hope, is available now from Amazon in Kindle and paperback formats. A little more about me
The main reason I am beginning this newsletter is so that I can keep in contact with you, my much-valued readers, but first, let me tell you a little more about myself. I grew up in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England, and after a brief but enjoyable spell living in Plymouth, I have now settled in the rural surroundings of my adopted nation, Wales, a land of castles and legends. Perfect for a writer!
After a variety of jobs, I am now a full-time parent, looking after my ten-month-old daughter. Once I’ve finally got her to sleep, I spend my time writing. Ok, I also watch football or rugby from time to time, but mostly it's writing. Once I was bitten by the writing bug, it quickly became an obsession for me.
Vengeance of Hope
Vengeance of Hope has been my project for some time now, and I am very excited to see it out in the world. It’s pretty surreal, to be honest. Please do leave a review when you read it. Meanwhile, I am working hard on the latter stages of the development of the second instalment, King of the Republic, which is due out later this year.
So what is Vengeance of Hope about? Vengeance of Hope an action-packed military fantasy fiction novel that, along with its sequels, looks at what happens when a nation tears itself apart and falls into the grasp of a tyrant.
It focuses on three very different freedom fighters, following their very different approaches to saving their people. The first is Silrith, a benevolent Princess, usurped from her position, who will do anything to defend her family and her countrymen. The second is Ezrina, a vengeful rebel desperate for a new world order. Finally, there is Zethun, a career politician with ambitions of removing the monarchy altogether.
There is, of course, much more to the creation story of Vengeance of Hope, and to the inspirations behind it, but that is something for another newsletter. I wouldn’t want to tell you everything in one go and not have you coming back for more, would I?
